Make your products shine online

How Maria Hetrick elevates her jewellery brand, Clay Dazing, with Photoroom.

For Maria Hetrick, founder of jewellery brand Clay Dazing, creativity has always been hands-on. Hetrick began crafting polymer clay earrings during the Covid-19 pandemic as a way to decompress.

What started as a hobby quickly evolved into a thriving business built on personality and emotional connection. But in a saturated market, products have to stand out from the crowd – and that’s where Photoroom became a game-changer.

We sat down with Hetrick to find out more about her favourite in-app features and how they’ve shaped her shoots.

Upload your photos and type prompts to create a customised background.

Before discovering Photoroom, Hetrick’s product photography process was time-consuming and physical. She sourced props, styled flat lays and hoped the result would feel glossy enough for her online shop and social media. “I would try to get the best lighting next to the sun, shoot by the window. I would use little coasters,” she tells us. “It didn’t look professional.”

With the AI Product Staging feature, Hetrick often starts with a white background and builds from there – typing prompts to refine the look and feel she’s after. For an autumn launch, for example, Photoroom generated a subtly seasonal backdrop that looked professionally styled and entirely on-brand. “The impact of the app is a night-and-day difference,” she says.

Apply a specific theme to all your pictures in one go with Batch Editing.

As a solo entrepreneur – and a mum – Hetrick doesn’t have hours to retouch hundreds of images one by one. Each collection can include dozens of products and consistency is key.

Photoroom’s Batch Editing feature allows the entrepreneur to apply backgrounds, lighting adjustments and refinements across an entire set of images at once. What once took hours now takes minutes. The time saved on editing is reinvested where it matters most – designing new pieces, nurturing her community and honing her brand voice.

Recolour parts of your images as needed in a few words.

Clay Dazing is built on colour: bright rainbows, playful palettes and seasonal tones define the brand’s identity.

With Photoroom’s Recolor feature, Maria can experiment freely – adjusting backgrounds or visual elements to match the colours and design of a campaign theme without having to reshoot products. This flexibility allows her to maintain a cohesive aesthetic across social media and promotional materials.

Measurable growth

The impact is tangible. Hetrick shares that images created with Photoroom generate up to four times more engagement than those created before she started using the app. This increased engagement has translated into stronger web traffic and clearer paths to purchase.

Photoroom doesn’t replace Hetrick’s creativity – it amplifies it. By streamlining staging, scaling edits and unlocking visual experimentation, the app helps to give her more of what every entrepreneur needs: time and leverage.
