We're excited to share that, together with computational engineering innovator LEAP 71, we've produced the world's largest metal 3D-printed aerospike rocket engine – the XRA-2E5, generating 20 tons of thrust (200 kN) 🚀 Printed in just 289 hours on the HBD 800, this monolithic engine pushes the limits of additive manufacturing. Its toroidal combustion chamber, central spike, and regenerative cooling using cryogenic methane and liquid oxygen showcase cutting-edge aerospace engineering. Built in Inconel 718, it's ready for the upper stages of reusable rockets, proving that large-format 3D printing can deliver high-precision, high-performance hardware. 🌟 This marks a big step toward next-generation reusable rockets, and we'll continue advancing additive manufacturing for aerospace applications. 🔗 Want to learn more about the XRA-2E5?
