Developed in partnership with the Technology Innovation Institute via the Naval Innovation Hub, Mitras is ADSB’s advanced lightweight armour system engineered for the FA-400 high-speed patrol vessel. Designed, manufactured, and validated in the UAE in just 40 days, the system combines advanced materials research and AI-assisted development to deliver enhanced protection and operational resilience for demanding maritime missions.
Mitras - Advanced Armour System: Designed by TII in Partnership with ADSB via the Naval Innovation Hub TII's Advanced Materials Research Center is proud to be recognised by ADSB for the development of Mitras, an advanced armor system that reflects what is possible when deep research capability is applied with purpose and precision. Developed, manufactured and tested entirely in the UAE, Mitras is a lightweight protection system engineered for marine applications. Designed for the ADSB FA-400, a high-speed Patrol Vessel used for search-and-rescue, rapid response, and military tasks, the system was purpose-built for environments where lightweight construction and high protection are both essential. Built in just 40 calendar days, it was developed using advanced material characterization, numerical simulations, and AI-assisted R&D tools to accelerate the process without compromising on performance. The result exceeded expectations on every level, a protection system validated against armor-piercing rounds up to 12.7mm, purpose-built to address the nation's needs and strengthen its resilience. Advancing the future of naval capability through trusted international collaboration. #ADSB has signed a major contract with Leonardo to provide next-generation naval combat systems for the Kuwait Navy’s Al Dorra missile boat programme. Worth more than €320 million, the agreement builds on over 20 years of successful cooperation and reflects ADSB’s growing role in delivering integrated naval platforms and advanced maritime capabilities for international customers. Together, ADSB and Leonardo continue to strengthen a partnership focused on innovation, system integration, and next-generation naval readiness.

#ADSB welcomed a delegation from the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan Cultural Center, led by Her Excellency Mariam Hamad Al Shamsi, Secretary General of the Center, to discuss potential areas of cooperation and community-focused initiatives that support shared objectives and strengthen strategic collaboration.
