How long should a scan take? #148

Hey, I'm running an easy scan on a large library (about 240k songs). Just curious on two things. How long should I expect it to take? And what order, if any, does rsgain scan the files in? Just want to know if i can estimate how much longer it will be based on what it's currently scanning. Thanks! |

It depends on settings. Are you using the multithreading mode? If so, it'll give you a progress indicator as a percent value and you should be able to get a rough guess of how long the whole library will take based on that. The order of the files is however is the order that the OS reports them. It's outside of the control of the program. |

Ha, no. I definitely should have used multithreading, but I'm two days into the scan so I might as well ride it out from here. |

OK. Just continue with the scan then. The single threaded mode doesn't give any progress indication in terms of the whole library, just individual files. |
