    Update "Russian invasion of Ukraine" in Ongoing to "Russo-Ukrainian war (2022–present)" per the change in the article's title

    [edit]

    See Talk:Russo-Ukrainian_war_(2022–present)#Requested_move_5_August_2025 for the requested move that led to the title change. JasonMacker (talk) 21:03, 24 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

    Do we really need current events pages for dates that are nearly a decade into the future? 2A0E:1D47:9085:D200:1479:37FD:EA26:64E (talk) 02:11, 4 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

    There is a discussion about these pages at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Future months 2026 to 2036 -- John of Reading (talk) 06:47, 7 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

    Maybe add 2025 Alberta teachers' strike to the current events soon? It is happening in a few days and is in the news... ~Rafael (He, him) • talkguestbookprojects 14:24, 4 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

    MfD for the months from January 2026 to December 2036

    [edit]

    An MfD is now available at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Future months 2026 to 2036. GTrang (talk) 15:59, 7 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

    Asked at Portal_talk:Canada#Edit_request. I think it would work. ~Rafael (He, him) • talkguestbookprojects 23:25, 21 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

     Not done: According to the page's protection level you should be able to edit the page yourself. If you seem to be unable to, please reopen the request with further details.
    Quoting from the linked discussion: October 6, 2025 - A teachers' strike in Alberta begins, making 51,000 teachers off-work and affects more than 700,000 students. Thousands rally across Alberta to support educators. Page Portal:Current events/2025 October 6 is not protected. For more details about how this portal works, see Wikipedia:How the Current events page works. —andrybak (talk) 00:07, 22 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
    @Andrybak sorry. I meant right now. ~Rafael (He, him) • talkguestbookprojects 02:25, 22 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
    @Rafaelthegreat, I'm sorry, I don't understand what you mean by "right now". If you want this news item about teachers in Alberta to show up on Portal:Canada, you'd need to go to Special:Edit/Portal:Current events/2025 October 6 and add it. That's how the portal about Canada works – mentions of Alberta on this portal will be automagically picked up on that portal. An admin's involvement isn't needed – the part of User:Moxy's message "Portal:Current events that only administrators can edit" is technically correct, but can be easily misunderstood, because subpages of Portal:Current events for specific dates aren't protected. —andrybak (talk) 10:42, 22 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
    @Andrybak it's okay. Let's just close this and not take action. I don't know what I really said either. ~Rafael (He, him) • talkguestbookprojects 14:04, 22 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

    It used to be here a month ago. I have no idea why the part of the header that said Current Events no longer links to the portal. Gingeroscar (talk) 05:51, 26 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

    The links from the "In the news" box on the main page (Template:In the news/footer) were changed per a recent discussion archived at Wikipedia talk:In the news/Archive 120#Should there be a link to Portal:Current Events?. You can still reach the portal via the link "More current events" in the same box (bottom right corner) and via the sidebar of the website (between "Contents" and "Random article" in all skins except the mobile website's skin). —andrybak (talk) 08:24, 26 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
