Sebstin, 27 Jul 2026No fingerprint reader!? Really?Dude, it has faceID. Last iPhone with a fingerprint sensor was iPhone SE 2022 with a legacy design from 2014.
Adam El Faqir, 22 Jul 2026That notch makes it look like straight out of 2021, atleast put the dynamic island. But if they do that its literally almost identical to the normal iPhone 17. And Apple can't bear to have lower sales on their more expensive products.
No fingerprint reader!? Really?
Why are people hating on the notch? You didn't have an issue a few years ago. I think it looks okay.

Or maybe if one want to learn how to tweak the so called android phone then it is different story then, but give or take it will just going to heat the devices more quickly. 🤝

I'm currently planning to buy a phone for myself in December and I'm busy going round and round in circles... I just want a simple phone that'll last me for 7 years. I dont play games, nor am I a photogenic person... I think this phone its meant for people like us. One camera is enough for me. What do I need 3 cameras for?
NickDick, 12 May 2026It says upgradeable to iOS 26.4.2 - but I've just updated to 26.5 - please explain.Seriously?
whatisafeeling, 09 Jul 2026-do any of the above have their own ecosystem?
-which one is more likely to run smoothly for... moreI whole heartedly agree that it is the system, whole package and individual choices that matters.
But still. Apple is premium product, the quality for the price should be optimum.

-which one is more likely to run smoothly for more than 5 years?

yes, those are the basics, but those are the basics that most people buy a smartphone for.
sure, there are better phones in some if not all areas, and if you want in every area you look for a flagship which this is not.
but i understand your point of view also.
you probably see a phone, components and the price.
that's it. i get that, really.
it's not hard to see this model as just some old and reused iphone model, but..
it represents what most people need.
not want. just need.
so, what are the main reasons people buy new phone at all?
battery life and more software support are number 1.
there's no ultra mega 1 inch camera systems, no ultra mega cpu or gpu speeds,
just longer battery life and longer software support.
"budget iphone" has always been in this state of criticism from the android community,
even the best selling ones such as the first iphone se (2016).
because android fans mostly compare everything by the android standards,
even iphone is, obviously, not an android device and experience with using them will not be the same, but it seems that's not important part for many.
as many people see iphone just as any other phone, just with the premium tag.
which is true to one extent. but iphone is just one of the apple many products in portfolio,
and the main one is their software, their unique ecosystem.
iphones, like many of their products are just a ticket to their ecosystem.
buying only one ticket (one of their products) will not be enough for the whole experience.
people that want to have an iphone in the first place,
are mostly the people that already have something from apple in their use.
like a watch or tablet, or a laptop or desktop computer which they use
in unmatched synchronization. so, there's some value. it only depends for who.
for many phone fans, ios is a more limited choice than android is,
many people put a stop there as if it were the end of the discussion,
but that doesn't mean that ios doesn't have some interesting that some people are used to.
in fact some of them are so used to it,
that they can't leave ios world because there are no alternative options in android.
so.. while we're glazing at the numbers in specs sheet on every phone,
it all depends of our system choice first.
ios or android.
if it's android let's talk about zillion brands.
if it's ios, we can talk only about iphones, even if the iphone is calling
their "budget" offering a budget, while costing 650€.
i think my opinion is in the minority over here.
i'm always trying to see good and bad things in every offering.
it seems people around here trained them self to be mostly negative.
but here's one (almost) positive comment. from me, hehe :)
cheers
If you're not in the for top of the range anything then this is the perfect sensible Iphone. Most people never use a phone to it's full potential. They just spend more than is necessary or just wanna show off
Jessica , 11 Jun 2026Been thinking about getting this phone, honestly I'm missing the smaller phones. If you don't need any camera of any kind, then and then go ahead.
Otherwise buy iPhone 16 base version.
Back camera is one, and that too 1/2.55 [even 20,000 rupees android have better camera sometimes than this].
Two things which are positive, are base variant comes with 256 GB and 8 GB ram as well as battery is 4000 MAh.
